| description | The historical, constructive and socioeconomic contexts in the Sierra Morena neighborhood in Manizales (Caldas, Colombia), a community vulnerable to natural phenomena of landslides, floods and damage were analyzed. Methodologically, a descriptive analysis was made, evaluating the conditions of the exposed elements (houses and people) in terms of specific threats in their surroundings. The results related to the physical vulnerability of the dwellings are linked in a similar way to the characterization of high and very high landslide hazard. The types of construction determine the high vulnerability, susceptible to external factors, whether due to landslides, floods or other risks; and at the same time, indicating that the inhabitants do not take into account the risk situation or measure the human or socioeconomic losses that could be generated. |

Se analizaron los contextos históricos, constructivos y socioeconómicos en el barrio Sierra Morena en Manizales (Caldas, Colombia), comunidad vulnerable frente a fenómenos naturales de deslizamientos de tierra, inundaciones y afectaciones. Metodológicamente, se hizo un análisis descriptivo, evaluando las condiciones de los elementos expuestos (viviendas y personas) frente a amenazas específicas de sus alrededores. Los resultados relacionados con la vulnerabilidad física de las viviendas se vinculan de forma similar con la caracterización de amenaza alta y muy alta por deslizamiento. Los tipos de construcción determinan la vulnerabilidad alta, susceptible a factores externos bien sean por deslizamientos, inundaciones u otros riesgos; y, a su vez, indican que los habitantes no tienen presente la situación de riesgo ni dimensionan las pérdidas humanas o socioeconómicas que se podrían generar.
