Descripción
Sumario:Spanish emigration statistics in Spain have a number of problems since many Spanish immigrants, especially the most recent ones, are not registered in the Register of Spaniards Resident Abroad (PERE), the emigration register, or take a long time to do so. This paper, which draws primarily from the database of a survey of just over two thousand Spaniards who emigrated from Spain between 2008 and 2012, also shows the existence of socio-demographic patterns in the registration of this phenomenon. Among the most significant findings is the high underreporting of youngsters aged between 18 and 29.
