總結:New theories, new positions and new voices in the analysis of migratory processes and their importance in the regional development of Mexico. In keeping with this premise, this article attempts to enrich the discussions which, during the late 20th and early 21st centuries, have dealt with the positive and negative consequences of emigration for sender regions.                                                                         The analysis focuses on the South Pacific Region, comprising the states of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Guerrero, the most marginalized in the country, where migration, more than a generator of development, is a subsistence alternative for the population. Within this tenor, the author identifies some of the effects of the entry of family remittances into the area. Migrants’ efforts are reflected in the dollars they send their families.
