El artículo explora la relación entre la migración, el riesgo y los espacios fronterizos, tomando como casos las migraciones de personas indocumentadas en las fronteras norte y sur de México. Consta de cuatro secciones. Después de un breve resumen de la literatura de riesgo, donde se presentan los paradigmas dominantes en el tema, se explora de qué manera el concepto ayuda a entender la migración, particularmente en las fronteras. Sigue una propuesta conceptual para indagar los riesgos en las rutas migratorias. Termina con una recapitulación que resume algunos de los argumentos principales del ensayo.
