總結:The article explores family practices during the Covid-19 pandemic in Argentina by analyzing the strategies to sustain professional practices and caregiving based on accounts by Argentinean teachers. For its methodology, in-depth interviews were carried out with married and umarried women, and with children under 12 years old, between March 2020 at the time of the state-mandated Preventive and Obligatory Isolation up until December 2021, when Preventive and Obligatory Social Distancing was still in force. Among its findings, the study showed that the Covid-19 situation transformed labor relations and caregiving, disrupted and altered family practices marked by continued gender inequalities, limited career development, and created obligations, concerns, and discomforts with a differential impact on women. The article argues that the work of teacher-mothers, despite not having been considered essential, was not allowed to be put on pause, creating an impact on family arrangements. By taking this approach, we analyse the sexual and gendered structure of caregiving, which has been intensified during the pandemic yet without earning any increased recognition.
