Fourteen men, between 21 and 46 years old, married, and with at least one child, residents of the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, Mexico, were interviewed. The vocabulary / emotional repertoire identified is broad. Men enunciated emotions recognized with specific labels, as well as to metaphors and narratives that allude to emotional contents. Certain emotions are prevalent in the area of family relationships, others are related to (un)employment, some are shared in both relational spaces. Men and emotions represent challenges and opportunities for the analysis of masculinities. |

El objetivo de este estudio es identificar las emociones que están relacionadas con las trayectorias laborales y familiares de hombres en condición de desempleo (en curso o en un período reciente), a través de un acercamiento etnográfico. Se entrevistó a catorce hombres de entre 21 a 46 años, unidos y con al menos un/a hijo/a, residentes de la zona metropolitana de Guadalajara, México. El vocabulario / repertorio emocional identificado es amplio. Los hombres recurren a la enunciación de etiquetas reconocidas como emociones, así como a metáforas y narrativas que aluden a contenidos emocionales. Ciertas emociones tienen predominio en el ámbito de las relaciones familiares, otras se relacionan con el laboral, algunas más son compartidas en ambos espacios relacionales. Los hombres y las emociones representan retos y oportunidades para el análisis de las masculinidades.
