Description
Summary:In Mexico, very little qualitative information is available concerning the families I refer to as “Single father families”. However, according to the 2010 National Population and Housing Census,1 an estimate of 378,400 single father families in our country, along with 11.4 million single mothers.  Using a qualitative method, I document the experiences of 14 single-father families in the state of  Querétaro. The goal of the following article is to analyze the motives of becoming a “Single father  family”, as well as to describe their features and composition of those homes. I will finalize this paper  with a reflection about the contradictions and challenges they face.
