| Résumé: | This research note presents the methodological challenges we faced in designing and coordinating the Biographical Dictionary of Women of El Colegio de México. The project involved a theoretical and practical reflection on the tensions between memory and history, understood as narratives of the past with different purposes, and their relationship to the field of women’s historiography. We also argue that a biographical dictionary proved to be an appropriate initial approach to the study of history of women at El Colegio de México. Finally, we discuss the criteria for selecting the biographies and collaborators. |
