Descripción
Sumario:This paper explores the literary representations of the physical, psychological, and economical expressions of violence towards immigrant women by their sentimental partners in the domestic space. This analysis aims to gauge how, given the risk of deportation and the vulnerability facing immigrant women, gender violence relates to structural and cultural violence. In the writing of Eduardo González Viaña, María Fernanda Ampuero, and Sandra Cisneros a verticality exists between non-immigrant male characters and immigrant female characters. This opens the discussion about power relationships and their impact on the possibility of migrants staying in the destination c or of returning to their country oof origin.
