| Resumo: | The article argues that feminicida violence is not an isolated event but the result of a series of previous situations within the contexts of close, trusting and/or intimate relationships. Such violence arises mainly from gender inequalities as part of a broader phenomenon. To the author seeks to identify and analyze specific aspects of cases in which forensic medical reports were prepared to reclassify crimes from intentional injuries committed against women to attempted feminicide. The method involved the descriptive analysis of twelve injuries reported between 2021 and 2022 Reclassification of the crime of injuries to attempted feminicide, through legal medicine opinions and contextual analysis in the State of Mexico, in which a decision was requested from a gender perspective to reclassify the crime, and in situations when the victim reported episodes of manual and/or armed strangulation and also presented neck injuries. Women who had suffered strangulation were found to be at high risk of becoming victims of feminicide, since strangulation it is one of the main causes of death in this crime. Clinical outcomes included cerebral edema, offensive or defensive injuries, changes in mental status (sleep disorders, amnesia, stress, restlessness or combativeness), and changes in breathing and swallowing.
