| Résumé: | This document aims to provide an explanation of the problems and conflicts surrounding the treated water from the Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant and its discharge into the sea, particularly in the period between August 2023 and March 2024. The study mainly uses primary and journalistic sources that inform the public debate to present the arguments of each of the actors involved and to analyze their premises. Although a verdict on the safety of the discharge of treated water into the sea is beyond the scope of this article, the conclusion leads to considering political, economic, and other risks that will accompany the process until its end. |
