Este texto reflexiona en torno al fenómeno de información sobre China, a la luz de la publicación del libro Setenta años de existencia de la República Popular China, 1949-2019 (El Colegio de México, 2022). Dicha obra delinea una perspectiva sobre China que contrasta notablemente con la de la prensa y las redes sociales. Reconocer que China es, simultáneamente, un fenómeno de información y un objeto de estudio, y entender las implicaciones, es indispensable para mejorar la forma en que estudiamos este país.
