| Résumé: | The “□” character in the oracle bone script is one that has yet to be deciphered and remains in dispute because of two main problems: i) it’s meaning, and ii) the location of the state that had this name. This article presents new ideas on the topic, based on the results and opinions of previous researchers, to help us better understand the scripts that contain this character, the historical evolution of related characters, and the geographical relationship in some historical events and the relationships between the Shang dynasty and neighboring states. |
