| description | Kaneko Misuzu’s children’s poems are some of the most delightful in modern Japanese literature. In her poems the author portrays the world with an extraordinary sensitivity. Many previous studies in Japan have highlighted the influence on her work of the Jōdo-shinshū school, with which she was in constant contact from a young age. However, some of the ideas expressed in her poems involve feelings of compassion towards plants and even inanimate objects. This paper discusses the similarity of some of Misuzu’s poems with the teachings of the Goutama Buddha, mainly focusing on how she professes compassion towards plants and other objects regarded as lifeless in the Buddhist philosophical context. |

La poesía infantil de Kaneko Misuzu es una de las más populares de la literatura moderna japonesa. Destaca por describir el mundo con una sensibilidad especial, avivada, según muchos estudios previos, por la influencia de las enseñanzas de la escuela Jōdoshinshū, a la cual Misuzu tuvo acceso desde muy temprana edad. Sin embargo, ciertas reflexiones en su poesía hablan de la benevolencia con las plantas y otros objetos inanimados, pensamientos similares a las enseñanzas del Buda Gotama. El presente trabajo analiza estas semejanzas en algunos de sus poemas y se centra en el concepto de compasión que Misuzu profesa a las plantas y otros objetos inertes en el contexto filosófico budista.
