For example, He Chongyue documents propaganda and the effects of the aging population in rural zones through pictures and videos. Ma Quisha records her personal experience through videos and expresses the pressure of being an only child as well as the construction of a personal identity. Zhang O and Shen Yuan reflect on international adoption and cultural identity. |

Este artículo explora la recepción y el impacto de la política de planificación familiar en el arte experimental en China. El estudio pretende mostrar cómo artistas de distintas generaciones abordan las consecuencias de la política demográfica iniciada en China en 1979 y cómo el arte se convierte en un instrumento para generar debate, visibilizar problemáticas sociales y promover el cambio social y político. Por ejemplo, He Chongyue utiliza la fotografía y el video para documentar la propaganda y los efectos del envejecimiento poblacional en zonas rurales. Ma Qiusha, por su parte, recurre a su experiencia personal en videos para expresar la presión que enfrentan los hijos únicos y la construcción de la identidad. Zhang O y Shen Yuan reflexionan sobre las adopciones internacionales y la identidad cultural.
