| description | This article offers a study of the policies advocated by the largest Islamist party in Indonesia, the ruling Prosperous Justice Party (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera, PKS), on the various laws influenced by sharia established in Indonesia during the last term 2004-2009. In it, along with the introduction of sharia laws locally, there has been a breakthrough in the Islamization of the country with anti-pornography law, the law of halal certification (not voted yet) and the freezing of activities of religious organization Ahmadiyah. This process reveals the tensions that exist within the PKS that also reflected the tensions that occur in the binomial Islam and democracy. While there has been a breakthrough for democracy in the Muslim world, the situation is far from positive and there is still a long way to go. |

El presente artículo realiza un estudio de las políticas defendidas por el mayor partido islamista de Indonesia, el Partido de la Justicia y la Prosperidad (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera, PKS), respecto a las diversas leyes influenciadas por la sharia establecidas en Indonesia durante la pasada legislatura 2004-2009. En ella, junto a la introducción de leyes sharia a nivel local, se ha producido un avance en la islamización del país con la ley anti-pornografía, la ley de certificación halal (no votada todavía) y la congelación de actividades de la organización religiosa Ahmadiyah. Este proceso muestra las tensiones que existen dentro del PKS que asimismo reflejan las tensiones que se dan en el binomio Islam y democracia. Si bien se ha dado un avance importante de la democracia dentro del mundo musulmán, la situación está lejos de ser positiva y existe todavía un largo camino por recorrer.
