Destacamos un periodo de alternancia política, debido al cambio de primer ministro, en mayo de 2024; Lawrence Wong, proveniente del Partido Acción Popular ( PAP), enfrenta desafíos importantes tanto internos (descontento por las diferencias salariales, por las dificultades derivadas del crecimiento de la economía nacional y por la equidad de género, entre otros) como externos (rivalidades geopolíticas entre China y Estados Unidos, el entorno comercial internacional, actores económicos emergentes, etc.).
