description Anwar Ibrahim became Prime Minister of Malaysia in November 2022 and since embarked on a series of political, economic, and social reforms to address some of the country’s challenges, such as slow economic growth following the Covid-19 crisis, corruption, and social integration in the face of growing ethnic diversity and the debate on human rights, specifically the sexual rights of LGBTQ+ minorities. Malaysia is also seeking to position itself regionally and internationally, especially in its relations with China and in its diplomatic role in confrontations such as the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and within organizations such as ASEAN.

Malaysia is also seeking to position itself regionally and internationally, especially in its relations with China and in its diplomatic role in confrontations such as the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and within organizations such as ASEAN.
