| Résumé: | This text analyzes a pair of actions that have serious consequences, since they are executed and supported by the state. They endanger the principles under which democracy was built in India. The first one is the amendment to the Law of Citizenship in the Constitution and the second is the update of the National Register of Citizens that has been implemented in Assam. Both confirm the way the current government sees nation and citizenship as predominantly Hindu. Also, these mechanisms render the Muslim community and others vulnerable. |
