Convencida de que tras las bambalinas de toda escritura se vislumbra siempre una autoafirmación, una (im)postura, del creador, y toda vez que los estudios sobre la autorialidad en la literatura hispanoamericana se encuentran aún en pleno despegue, propongo analizar las formas de autofiguración que Mario Vargas Llosa emprende en La tía Julia y el escribidor y El pez en el agua, dos obras que, por su naturaleza autobiográfica, encierran planteamientos fundamentales acerca del autor y la autoría, los cuales se transforman en la creación de imágenes textuales adecuadas a cuestionamientos particulares sobre el ser y el deber ser del escritor.
