Martin’s explanations are rather pertinent, althoughsometimes problematic: in some instances, he alters sor Juana’s text withoutapparent reason, he is guilty of a few errata, and adds comments that sometimescall for rectificacion. Anyway, thanks to him, the terrain is ready fora future impeccable edition. |

Crítica de la edición del Neptuno por la editorial Cátedra (2009). La introducción,por Electa Arenal, abunda en exageraciones y falsedades. En cambio,el texto, a cargo de Vicent Martin, es valioso, con algunas salvedades. SorJuana cita en su obra a 60 autores antiguos, lo cual le dio fama de erudita;de hecho, toda esta erudición procede de tres o cuatro libros de consulta,en especial el Teatro de los dioses de la gentilidad de Baltasar de Victoria. Lasaclaraciones de Martin son muy pertinentes; lo malo es que a veces alterasin razón el texto de sor Juana, se le escapan algunas erratas y a veces hacecomentarios que merecen rectificarse. De todos modos, gracias a él quedapreparado el terreno para una edición impecable.
