總結:This article aims to incorporate the Philippines into the history of glassmaking in the Modern Era. It identifies the origin of the glass used in this zone of the Spanish Empire and explores the development of local production initiatives. It analyzes the chronicles and, above all, administrative records of the islands that have been conserved in Spain and Mexico. The Protocol Archives of Mexico City and Lima have also been consulted in order to recover the traces of the glass trade in the Philippines, whose final point of sale was in the American viceroyalties. This exploratory article offers a more balanced vision of the circulation and manufacture of glass in the territories dominated by the Spanish Crown, emphasizing the presence of European and Chinese glassmakers, which indicates the need to continue studying this issue.
