| 總結: | The objective of this article is to analyze population movements in the east of the Bishopric of Michoacán at the end of the colonial era. Among the cases studied are those of Maravatío and Taximaroa, two parish seats whose jurisdiction included Indian towns, but also a large number of haciendas and ranches inhabited by Spaniards, Indigenous laborers and half-castes. Tlalpujahua and Angangueo, two mining towns with populations of diverse origins, were also found in the east. To analyze migration to these settlements, parish marriage records are analyzed, as they recorded the places of origin of the bride and groom. It concludes that in parishes with Indian towns and agricultural activities, intraparish migration occurred from towns to haciendas and interparish movements were infrequent due to the equilibrium between labor and existing resources.
