description This article analyzes the relationship between the Yaqui people and Mexican revolutionaries. This relationship was complex and strained, partly due to the long and cruel war that preceded the revolution and partly because it involved collective, non-homogenous actors. Madero and many of his fellow revolutionaries recognized  the justice of Yaqui demands  and the injustice of Porfirian policies, but were unable to find a peaceful solution to the problem as they couldn’t accept the central demand of the Yaquis: the departure of soldiers and white settlers from their territory. in the end, the revolutionaries generally continued prior policies, that is, a mixture of war, colonization and military occupation. And though they were increasingly unorganized and divided, part of the Yaqui people continued to resist these policies.

And though they were increasingly unorganized and divided, part of the Yaqui people continued to resist these policies.
