Résumé:During the second half of the 17th Century, American and Asian commerce were profoundly interconnected, to the extent that events on one continent could trigger a series of changes on the other. This article studies how certain events in China, India and the Philippines during this period had a strong effect on American commerce and how this market in turn affected these regions of Asia. It also investigations the repercussions of these events on European trade.
