| Sumario: | By analyzing the work of José Fuentes Mares, this study reviews some arguments of Mexican historiography on Northem Mexico, such as the desert, Creole history and elites. In order to approach the work of this historian, we need to consider the work of others who wrote from different viewpoints and for difierent reasons. One such case is Francisco R. Almada, who in 1950 held a strong discussion with Fuentes Mares regarding Luis Terrazas and Benito Juarez. |
