Taking into account the details of the historical circumstances, this paper analyzes the discourse of the Mexican Foreign Ministry, and sets out in twelve points the foreign policy of Mexico towards Francoist Spain during forty long years. |

En septiembre de 1975, y tras conocerse la noticia de la ejecución de cinco fusilamientos en España, Luis Echeverría cobró un repentino protagonismo en el escenario internacional, impulsado por su idea de provocar el derrumbe de la dictadura franquista. Para alcanzar tal propósito, el presidente mexicano puso en marcha la articulada maquinaria de aquel régimen posrevolucionario, empezando por la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores y su embajador en la ONU, Alfonso García Robles. Así, y teniendo en cuenta los pormenores de esta coyuntura histórica, el presente artículo analiza el discurso de la cancillería mexicana hasta descubrir en 12 puntos las verdaderas bases de la política exterior de México hacia la España franquista durante 40 largos años.
