| Summary: | The book Las bases ideológicas de la independiencia partidista en México by Isaac Cisneros studies both the characteristics of four different types of groups of the Mexican electorate, as well as their differences in political behavior. The review makes, first, a summary of the research questions, the hypotheses, and the information sources of the book, emphasizing its main contributions to the study of public opinion and electoral behavior in Mexico. Cisneros's innovative proposal to distinguish between partisan independents with and without political ideology stands out. Afterwards, the review raises some questions to discuss some of the theoretical and methodological implications of the results of the book with the purpose of developing some themes from that research agenda.
