Description
Résumé:Violence and victimization of Mexican children and adolescents have received limited academic and governmental attention compared to that of adults. Data regarding the prevalence of this phenomenon are derived from nationally representative surveys; however, victimization data is still limited. To contribute to our understanding of this issue, we developed two survey questionnaires for a more comprehensive measurement of the phenomenon. A pilot study was conducted in the State of Morelos, involving a non-probabilistic sample of 207 interviews with caregivers of children (aged 0-11 years) and 368 interviews with adolescents (aged 12-17 years). We discuss methodological, ethical, and practical recommendations for quantitative studies on violence and victimization among children and adolescents.
