| description | This article presents the results of a qualitative study conducted in Santiago, Chile, which analyzes the meanings attributed by adult migrants to their experiences of coexistence and urban citizenship in an area of the Santiago Centro district (comuna). Using ethnographic methods, between 2023 and 2024, we conducted participatory observation and in-depth interviews with Venezuelan migrants. The combination of neighborhood and transnationality brings to light increasingly visible heterogeneous practices from below, although these are usually undervalued by nationals and government institutions. This is an area that has been characterized by recent densification in an old residential setting, and since 2014 has received a Venezuelan population, which has gradually formed an ethnic enclave, revealing significant density and diversity in the agglomerations. The results show a plurality of meanings around everyday life and local citizenship, highlighting a typology of coexistence between Venezuelan migrants and nationals: 1) hostility; 2) cordiality; and 3) inclusive dialogue, with mixophobia predominating in a context of growing political de-urbanization at the national level. |

Este artículo presenta los resultados de un estudio cualitativo desarrollado en Santiago de Chile, en el que se analizan las significaciones atribuidas por migrantes adultos a sus experiencias en cuanto a convivencia y ciudadanía urbana en un territorio de la comuna de Santiago Centro. A través del método etnográfico, entre los años 2023 y 2024 realizamos observación con participación y entrevistas en profundidad a personas venezolanas. La conjunción barrio-transnacionalidad hace aparecer desde abajo prácticas heterogéneas cada vez más visibles, aunque usualmente poco valoradas por los habitantes chilenos y las instituciones gubernamentales. Se trata de una zona caracterizada por la densificación reciente en un marco histórico residencial antiguo, y que desde 2014 ha recibido población venezolana, la cual ha conformado poco a poco un enclave étnico, revelándose como significativas la densidad y la diversidad de las aglomeraciones. Los resultados muestran una pluralidad de sentidos en torno a la vida cotidiana y la ciudadanía local, destacando una tipología de convivencias entre migrantes venezolanos y residentes chilenos: 1) hostilidad; 2) cordialidad; y 3) diálogo inclusivo, predominando la mixofobia, en un contexto de creciente desciudadanización política a escala nacional.
