Description
Résumé:In 2018, the World Health Organization determined that traffic accidents have become a public health concern with an annual rate of 1.2 million people deaths. In Colombia, they are the second cause of death in the population after the consequences derived from chronic diseases. The city of Ibagué reflects that 6 out of 100 000 inhabitants die on the roads each year. To determine this, we study the critical accident points of the city, finding that, apart from mechanical failures, recklessness and drunk drivers, as the main reasons, inappropriate decision-making and ignorance when accessing a roundabout (round point) constitute a common denominator of accidents.
