| Resumo: | Dr. Brígida García Guzmán received the Research Fellow Emerita distinction from El Colegio de México in recognition of her outstanding academic career in the area of sociodemography, and her committed work in the training of population scholars. The ceremony was held on June 24, 2019, in the Alfonso Reyes Hall of this institution. The words of the speakers are reproduced below in order of appearance: Silvia E. Giorguli, president of El Colegio de México; Orlandina de Oliveira, Research Fellow Emerita of the same institution; Enrique de la Garza Toledo, Distinguished Professor of the Autonomous Metropolitan University; and Jessica Nájera, research fellow at the Center for Demographic, Urban and Environmental Studies of El Colegio.
