Descripción
Sumario:The objective of this paper is to apply a methodological proposal to identify the main characteristics of labor commutation in Chilean Patagonia, with grouped data from two periods. The main nodal centers, the origin, the productive sectors, and the educational level of the workers were analyzed. Data was derived from the Supplementary Income Survey for the years 2011 and 2016. Through applying an index and a non-parametric test, results indicate there is little connection between the main nodal centers and the Patagonian regions and, contrary to expectations, the lower education levels of some workers explain longer distance commutation.
