| Resumo: | This article reviews the mechanisms for the regulated incorporation of socially-owned property into urban development in municipalities in the Mexico City Metropolitan zone (MCMZ) conurbation. Ten years after the modifications to Article 27 of the Constitution, the author explores the role played by the implementation of the Procede and Piso programs in the regulation of the change of land use from rural to urban, the reasons why ejido owners have decided to use the new mechanisms for separating from the social property regime and the position of the various actors involved (ejido owners, Agrarian Sector, Corett, private developers and municipalities) vis-à-vis these mechanisms. |
