Description
Résumé:This study constitutes an attempt to explore existing mediations in the relationship between population and natural resources (P-R) in areas of environmental interest on the outskirts of Mexico City. It focuses on the relationship that the descendants of the founders (set- tlers) in the village of San Nicolás Totolapan establish with existing natural resources in the ejido of the same name and in an area which has not been legally recognized as theirs yet which they have claimed as their own. The strategy used was to observe the subjective view of the settlers regarding their process of cultural and functional integration in the urban social context in which they are inserted as a means of understanding the way this process affects their relationship with natural resources.
