From this point of view, the social organizations studies in the case of Guadalajara appear as twofold vindications of the right to the city: 1) as agents of urban management, and 2) as political subjects that assume this role by speaking the demands of popular groups to government institutions.The spaces of political mediation, through which the tasks of governance are carried out, are the bridge that links those who govern and those who are governed. Therefore, in their struggle to survive as political institutions, political parties seem to have no other option than adopting popular demands and struggles. |

La tesis principal que se desarrolla en este trabajo es que la ausencia de ámbitos públicos en los cuales se exprese de manera franca la voluntad ciudadana, hace emerger a la figura social de la intermediación. Desde este punto de vista, las organizaciones sociales estudiadas para el caso de la ciudad de Guadalajara aparecen reivindicando el derecho a la ciudad por un camino doble: 1) como agentes que efectúan labores de gestión urbana; 2) como sujetos políticos que asumen este papel al convertirse en interlocutores de las demandas de los grupos populares ante las instancias gubernamentales.Los espacios de intermediación política por medio de los cuales se efectúan las tareas de la gobernabilidad, constituyen el puente que posibilita la vinculación entre gobernantes y gobernados; por ello los partidos políticos no parecen tener más opción en la búsqueda de su sobrevivencia como instituciones políticas, que su vinculación con las demandas y luchas populares.
