| description | In this paper, I analyze the type of body built on the figure of prostitutes from the perspective of the role of the State and the discourse of the press, taking as a starting point the sanction of the National Act 12.331: Prophylaxis of venereal diseases in Cordoba in 1938. To do so, I study the regulations of that act, how the state control was applied to these bodies, what kind of institutions were created for that purpose, and what role the press played in complying with these regulations. As a methodological proposal, I implement a qualitative analysis of primary sources, centered on two newspapers: La Voz del Interior and Los Principios; and the National Act 12.331: Prophylaxis of venereal diseases. In a second instance, I expose the main points of debate on this activity today. |

Este trabajo analiza qué tipo de cuerpo se construyó sobre la figura de las prostitutas a partir del rol del Estado y el discurso de la prensa, tomando como punto de partida la sanción de la Ley Nacional 12.331: Profilaxis de las enfermedades venéreas, en Córdoba en 1938. Para ello, se estudian las reglamentaciones de dicha ley, cómo se llevó a cabo el control estatal sobre esos cuerpos, qué tipo de instituciones fueron creadas para tal fin y qué lugar jugó la prensa en el cumplimiento de estas normativas. Como propuesta metodológica, se realiza un análisis cualitativo de fuentes primarias centrado en dos periódicos de la época: La Voz del Interior y Los Principios; así como en la Ley Nacional 12.331: Profilaxis de las enfermedades venéreas. En una segunda instancia, se exponen los principales puntos de debate sobre esta actividad en la actualidad.
