| Resumo: | This study examines some negotiations of meaning and cultural resonance between two distant literary contexts: medieval India and His panic poetry. The short poems about the “hero ine who goes out for a rendezvous” (abhisārikā nāyikā) in the Rasamañjarī by the Indian poet Bhānudatta (16th century) are used as a case study. Translating this Sanskrit text presents significant challenges, particularly in maintaining its brevity while conveying the aesthetic categories intrinsic to its original cultural context. However, medieval Hispanic lyric poetry may serve as the missing link to bridge these two literary traditions. |
