Resumo:Spanish texts on Japan date back to the sixteenth century and despite predating works in other languages, subsequent developments were erratic. Despite being pioneers, these works did not prevent Spain from falling far behind other countries in its Japanese Studies in the past century. Ensayos en honor del profesor Antonio Cabezas (2014) is a series of essays that contribute to acknowledge the role that this first generation of modern Japanologists, a group to which Professor Cabezas belonged, in the long but intermittent history of Spanish writings on Japan.
