| description | Domestic violence against women is an issue often concealed by the “culture of silence”. However, popular music has served as a powerful artistic expression to bring light to the issue in both public and active spaces. Mexico and Tanzania are two such examples. Therefore, a contrastive analysis is presented between two songs: Mexican song "Me golpeaste tanto anoche" and Tanzanian song "Kidogo Kidogo". For this purpose, the “inherent hypertextuality” theorical structure is applied, which allows linking works that respond to similar phenomena, as well as Judith Butler’s ideas on gender as a social construction. The aim is to understand the song’s techniques and the impact in promoting social awareness and battling ignorance and silent compliance to violence against women. |

La violencia doméstica contra las mujeres es una problemática frecuentemente invisibilizada por "culturas del silencio" y ante la cual la canción popular ha servido como una forma artística poderosa para exponer esta realidad en ámbitos públicos y activos. México y Tanzania son dos ejemplos de ello, por lo que se presenta un análisis contrastivo entre dos canciones: "Me golpeaste tanto anoche" de México y "Kidogo Kidogo" (Dale suave) de Tanzania. Para ello, se aplica la estructura teórica de la "hipertextualidad inherente", que permite vincular obras que responden a fenómenos similares, y las formulaciones de Judith Butler sobre el género como construcción social. La finalidad es dilucidar las técnicas y el impacto de estas canciones para potenciar la comprensión social y combatir la ignorancia y permisividad de la violencia contra las mujeres.
