| description | Based on an acoustic analysis we examine the variation between the vowel systems of Northern Lacandon, Southern Lacandon and Yucatec. The analysis shows evidence of the change in the middle central vowel, the long vowels, the accent pattern and the display of the laryngeal feature. The acoustic analysis shows that, phonetically, the peripheral vowels of Southern Lacandon and Yucatec can be produced with lengthening. This fact confirms the closeness between both languages. However, contrary to what has been said, in Northern Lacandon, phonetically there is no lengthening in the peripheral vowels. Regarding their accent pattern, we propose that Southern Lacandon and Yucatec are sensitive to syllabic weight, while Northern Lacandon has an immovable accent pattern. Finally, we show that the laryngeal vowels in Northern Lacandon and Southern Lacandon have a different production. In the first case the vowel has a glottal stop, while in the last case the vowel is rearticulated. |

A partir de un análisis acústico se examina la variación en los sistemas vocálicos del lacandón del norte, lacandón del sur y yucateco, lenguas que pertenecen al tronco yucatecano de la familia lingüística maya. El análisis muestra evidencia del cambio en los sistemas vocálicos, con respecto a la vocal media central, la longitud vocálica, el patrón acentual y la manifestación del rasgo laríngeo. El resultado de este análisis acústico muestra que las vocales periféricas del lacandón del sur y del yucateco pueden realizarse fonéticamente con alargamiento, lo cual corrobora que ambas lenguas tienen una mayor cercanía entre sí. Sin embargo, en lacandón del norte, las vocales periféricas fonéticamente no tienen alargamiento, a diferencia de lo que se ha dicho en estudios previos sobre esta lengua. Respecto al patrón acentual, se destaca que el lacandón del sur y el yucateco son sensibles al peso silábico, mientras que el lacandón del norte presenta un patrón de acento fijo. Finalmente, se muestra que las vocales laringizadas del lacandón del norte y del lacandón del sur tienen una realización diferente.
