| Sumario: | This research addresses the issue of reference continuity in narrative texts in the Guarijío language, which belongs to the Uto-Aztecan language family. The objective is to describe the various referential mechanisms that codify different participants/referents, and the distribution and degree of topicality they may present within discourse. To this end, (i) a particular analysis of the inventory of referential mechanisms in the language is carried out, followed by (ii) a sample analysis of the phenomenon in three narrative texts that detail how speakers manage to carry out referential continuity in this language.
