Résumé:In 2023, the policy of Covid-19 restrictions came to an end, political leaders reshuffled, and the National People’s Congress was held. The Chinese Communist Party began to exert greater control. Although the economy managed to grow 5.2% annually, it has suffered from youth unemployment and problems in the real estate market, as well as declining exports to some regions. In terms of foreign policy, 2023 saw a continuation in the conflicts in Sino-American relations, although there were high-level meetings and visits by U.S. officials to China. Relations with Russia continued to develop and benefit Chinese interests. China increased its diplomatic activity in the Middle East.
