總結:Hong Kong has traditionally enjoyed civil and political freedoms enshrined in the Basic Law. However, the implementation of the National Security Law since 2020 has restricted those freedoms. Under its legal provisions, prominent pro-democracy figures have been arrested, while political parties and independent media outlets have been suppressed. Following the 2019 protests and the Covid-19 pandemic, Hong Kong’s economy is heading towards a gradual recovery. However, the economic recovery will depend on domestic consumption growth and the continued arrival of investment and international talent. This report analyzes crucial events in Hong Kong’s development in 2023 and its relationship with China.
