Descripción
Sumario:The  Covid-19  pandemic  is  the  greatest  health  and  economic  problem  that  humanity has faced in the twenty-first century and its impact was global. China is a unique case  in  its  fight  against  the  pandemic,  although  it  successfully  countered  the  first  wave  of  infections in 2020, in 2022 the Chinese government faced the worst social crisis since 1989 that slowed down the economy and revived popular criticism of the government’s actions. China returned to its traditional pragmatism in 2023, to make its fight against the pandemic more flexible. This article analyzes the social and economic impact of the “Zero Covid-19” policy imposed by China between 2020 and 2023.
