總結:This article analyzes legitimacy in China and expands the traditional tripartite division between legitimacy of origin, performance, and destination. Also, it divides the legitimacy of origin into the legitimacy of institutions and legitimacy of the authorities, and considers that crises, efficacy, and uncertainty are three key terms to understand the current state of legitimacy in this country. In other words, a legitimacy of origin in crisis since 1989, the effectiveness of the results of modernization, and the uncertainty about whether the regime will maintain its current legitimacy. For the time being, the Chinese Communist Party uses multifaceted arguments to explain political domination based mainly on socioeconomic achievements, but since these are unstable, it urges to reinventing its sources. In this sense, the theoretical proposals oscillate between Confucianism and democracy, with a midpoint in modern Neo-Confucianism. However, the communist government is following a conservative course, although President Xi Jinping introduced traditional procedures in the 2018 constitutional amendment.
