| description | This work presents some of the most relevant events in 2020 Japan, in the fields of politics, economics, international relations, and society. Besides giving an account of some of the public issues that attracted attention, such as the resignation of Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and the postponement of the Olympic Games, the objective is to present a narrative to encourage the reader’s thinking from the perspective of Human Security. Through this lens, this work looks into the Covid-19 pandemic, the state of the relations with some of the most influential countries in the region, the sphere of natural disasters and the environment, and the increasingly convenient but pervasive field of technological development. Certainly, there are challenges facing both the new Prime Minister, Yoshihide Suga, and society as a whole. |

En este trabajo se presentan algunos de los acontecimientos más relevantes de 2020 en Japón, en los ámbitos de la política, la economía, las relaciones internacionales y la sociedad. Además de narrar algunos de los temas de la vida pública que más llamaron la atención, como la renuncia del primer ministro Shinzō Abe o la postergación de los Juegos Olímpicos, el objetivo es presentar un relato que propicie el pensamiento desde la perspectiva de la seguridad humana. Bajo esta lente se aborda con cierto detalle el devenir de la pandemia de covid-19, el estado de las relaciones con algunos de los países más influyentes en la región, el ámbito de los desastres naturales y el medio ambiente, y el cada vez más envolvente campo del desarrollo tecnológico. Sin duda, desafíos que tiene enfrente tanto el nuevo primer ministro, Yoshihide Suga, como la sociedad en su conjunto.
